Jim Bendis established Bendistillery in 1996 — the name is a mashup of his last name, his location
in Bend, OR, and the word “distillery.” His first spirit was Crater Lake Gin, named after the crystal
clear caldera lake in south-central Oregon that formed when the volcano Mount Mazama collapsed
about 150 years ago. Oregon’s water is famous for its purity because a great deal of it flows over
volcanic rock formations like Mazama. To mimic this process and create the purest spirit possible,
Bendis developed a filtration system that uses crushed volcanic rock. They have a spirit filtered just
like our water…that’s why it’s so smooth and sweet. Sixteen years and many spirits awards later, it’s
clear that people really do love Bendistillery’s products. The distillery is America’s most
award-winning small batch distillery.
Bull Run Distilling Company was founded in 2010 after a “what if ” conversation between gentlemen
one evening over cocktails evolved into a full-on crusade (as things sometimes do when spirits are involved).
Bull Run is part of a new group of artisans helping put Oregon craft spirits on the map with a line of spirits
that stand as well neat as they do in your favorite cocktail. Everything about Bull Run is steeped in history
and tradition — from the name and the building, to the custom designed stills. To sip the spirits is to
taste a bit of Oregon — from the original pioneers of the Lewis and Clark trail and the hard-living “ladies”
and gents of Slabtown, to Portland’s latest renaissance of cocktail culture and enthusiasm for

In late 2005, Nikos Ridge and Jamie Floyd met at a favorite local bottle shop in Eugene, Oregon. The two
started talking and landed on the question, “What would you do if you could open your own brewery?”
Six months later they created the first batch of Total Domination IPA. Nikos and Jamie have created a
company that represents what beer means to them—a source of community and the root of human existence,
which is why they chose Ninkasi, the Sumerian goddess of fermentation, as their name. A driving force behind
the brewery is the idea that beer is the center of community and culture, one never in operation without
the other. The current brewery features a 55-barrel brewing system, with a capacity of 95,000 barrels per year
of craft beer brands including Flagship, Seasonal Release, Special Release, Prismatic Lager, Single Hop, and
What started as a dream for two ordinary brothers who just loved beer has now become a reality for
two ordinary brothers who still just love beer. Kurt and Rob Widmer helped lead the Pacific Northwest
craft beer movement in 1984 when, in their 20’s, they dreamed of brewing unique interpretations of
traditional beer styles. In 1986, Widmer Brothers Brewing introduced the first American-style Hefeweizen;
today, the unfiltered cloudy beer is one of the best-selling wheat beers in the country. Based in Portland, Oregon,
the brewery currently brews a variety of beers including Alchemy Ale, the Rotator IPA series, Pitch Black IPA,
Nelson Imperial IPA, a high-end Brothers’ Reserve Series and a full seasonal lineup. For more information
